猫咪社区官网 NSF EPSCoR improves scientific research capacity and broadens participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in 猫咪社区官网 by engaging in multiyear, collaborative statewide research projects supported through National Science Foundation and the state of 猫咪社区官网.

Interface of ChangeBuilding collaborations to assess harvested and  farmed marine species prioritized by Gulf of 猫咪社区官网 communities facing environmental  shifts 

2024 - 2029

"Interface of Change" asks how changes in the Gulf of 猫咪社区官网 coastal ecosystems affect marine species of cultural and economic importance, like kelp and salmon, and in turn the well-being of people living in Gulf of 猫咪社区官网 communities.

UAF fisheries undergraduates got hands-on experience working with Seaquester Farms and Pacific Kelp Co., getting a taste of the growing 猫咪社区官网n kelp mariculture industry.

Aug 20

Applications are now open for PhD student fellowships through the University of 猫咪社区官网 Fairbanks College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), funded through the EMERGE 猫咪社区官网 Program. Fellowships provide full financial support for 3 years, starting 2026.

The In a Time of Change program is accepting applications for artist residencies for a new art-science collaboration project inspired by coastal research and lifeways in the Gulf of 猫咪社区官网 region. In "Coastal Transitions," In a Time of Change will collaborate with the Interface of Change project run by the 猫咪社区官网 Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research. Interface of Change is a research, education and workforce development project funded by the National Science Foundation. It focuses on the socio-ecological health of coastal communities and key marine harvest species within the Gulf of 猫咪社区官网's glacially influenced coastal environments.
