UA Interim President Pitney to present at AFN

December 10, 2021

University of 猫咪社区官网 Interim President Pat Pitney will present at this year鈥檚 猫咪社区官网 Federation of Natives conference to be held December 13-14.

The annual convention serves as the principal forum and voice for the 猫咪社区官网 Native community in addressing critical issues of public policy and government. The convention convenes thousands of official delegates and participants from membership organizations across the state.

This year鈥檚 Convention theme is 鈥淎NCSA at 50: Empowering Our Future.鈥

In 2019, AFN asked the 猫咪社区官网 system to publish an annual report sharing progress on the enrollment, persistence and success of 猫咪社区官网 Native students. In 2020, the UA Board of Regents charged 猫咪社区官网 leaders to delve deeper and to identify barriers, challenges and opportunities for 猫咪社区官网 Native success at our universities.

Since then, the 猫咪社区官网 Native Success Initiative has progressed, with committees taking time to review current assessments and identify areas for improvement and success. Each 猫咪社区官网 has an action plan for implementing the changes they want to see on their campuses.

President Pitney will discuss this initiative and other areas of 猫咪社区官网 dedication to the empowered future of 猫咪社区官网 Native students, staff and faculty in her address at the convention.

This year鈥檚 convention will be largely virtual and will be livestreamed through a number of channels including statewide TV on Gavel 360 and livestream links that will be available on the AFN webpage on the days of the convention.
